Job Title: Church Administrator
Hours: 10 hours/week
Location: Mainly working from home, with occasional work at the church building incl. occasional evenings/weekends by arrangement
Salary: £13/hr
Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term (to be reviewed at end of term)
Holidays: 25 days (pro rota) + Bank Holidays
Start Date: As soon as practically possible
Responsible To: Lead Minister
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Purpose: To support the minister, mission and ministry of the church

Essential skills to include:

  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Multitasking and flexibility

  • Comfortable with basic computer skills

  • Comfortable working with volunteers

  • Understanding of and sympathy with the church's mission and values, with a commitment to upholding Christian principles

  • Working well as part of a team in an evolving and changing context, balancing administrative efficiency with pastoral sensitivity, and a heart to serve the local church.
     

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 1. Administration
  • Maintaining the info@ email mailbox
  • Managing church website
  • Managing church calendar, including room hire
  • Creating and oversight of church publicity including fortnightly news-sheet, seasonal posters and flyers
  • Oversight of various compliance requirements
 
2. Operations
  • Overseeing building bookings, and setting heating for events and services
  • Invoicing for room hire and corresponding with finance team
  • First point of contact for small building maintenance issues
  • Purchasing ad hoc supplies
  • Taking meter readings and submitting to supplier
 
3. Ad Hoc Jobs
  • Various other responsibilities on occasion as needed, especially assisting ministers in one-off administrative tasks
